Does Veracite use AI to decide whether a citation is real?
No. Verdicts come from deterministic matching across 12 scholarly and library databases. The searched evidence is always visible; matched metadata and a confidence score are shown when a plausible record exists.
What happens to the bibliography I paste?
Without history enabled, input and results expire automatically within 24 hours. Signed-in users can explicitly save a verification to their history.
Can it verify books and non-English references?
Yes. The connected article, repository, and library databases broaden coverage for books, theses, grey literature, and multilingual publications.
What is the difference between Verified and Metadata mismatch?
Verified means the core identifying fields agree, although minor differences may remain. Metadata mismatch means a likely source was found, but one or more important supplied fields conflict with the authoritative record.
